Project 365. A year in pictures. A new photo each day. ...or not.

10/22/10

Late night at the office. Came home. Had a Smart One. Waiting for Hubs to finish work and bring other BIL back with him! He's staying for the weekend. He lives in NY and we haven't seen him in a loooooooooooong time! Looking forward to it! Was gonna go to dinner with friends tonight, but changed the plans to next week. So home, with pups, watching some TV and just hanging.

Picture of tonight's full moon, between palm trees, on a beautiful 75 degree evening. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. this is the life.

Hope you all enjoy a fun weekend.
Love and hugs. Good Shabbos.

So let's just say it's Thursday... :)

Worked. Had sushi. Went to Middle neph's school play. Had dinner at CUCINA MIO. Played at Sissy and BIL's place a bit. Went home. Slept. Not too much out of the ordinary, but let me tell you about the play! The performers were outstanding! During the show I kept thinking back to when was in High School, and I was trying to remember the school plays back then. There was not one performance I could recall that had a cast like I saw last night. These kids could sing! They could dance! They were very funny! And they were all gorgeous too! I had a great time, and was so glad I was there!!! But the most important part of the evening was the fact that my very own Middle neph worked on the "behind the scenes" stuff. He built the stage! He worked the sound system. He controlled the lighting! I was so proud of him. Ever since Middle was little, his mind worked in an unbelievable way. While Little and Big neph's do well in school on tests and stuff, Middle was always the one who knew how to use his hands!

Sometimes he would pull apart his toys when he was little, just to see how they worked, and then he could put them back together. (Sometimes he didn't put them back together, but he could have!) Middle was always the one who schlepped, carried, hauled, and lifted stuff. I was there when Little got his new scooter. Middle built it for him! He works on the cars. He is great with all the audio stuff too. Middle neph is awesome. I adore him to pieces and last night, at the play, I was so excited for him to show off all the fabulous things he is capable of doing. Love you Middle. Thanks for inviting me to your show! It was amazing, just like you. I am so proud to be your Auntie. xoxo Peace.

Happy Birthday Sloaney!!!

Today I worked and ordered in sushi from "FAH". The same owners as "Lemongrass" and "Sushi/Thai". It was excellent! ...and I didn't even sneak any leftovers into my lunch today. All is well in paradise.

I actually think I heard some of you audibly gasp
from yesterday's "fish tale"! Hahahahahaha!
Lighten up people, it's only lunch!!!

After work, Hubs and I went to Weight Watchers to weigh in. It was his first week on the program. He lost 4 1/2 pounds! Yay Hubby. Nice job. I lost 2. Still have 3 more to go to get back to where I was. I'm on the right path though. After WW, Hubs and I met Sissy, BIL, Big and Little nephs at "Tucci's Coal Fired Pizza" for Sissy's 47th birthday celebration. (Middle neph was working on the set for the school play! I'm going to see the show tomorrow! SOOOOOOOO proud of him!!!) At Tucci's we had rosemary wings, (eh) a delicious salad, a meatball & ricotta cheese pizza, and a margherita pizza.

Sissy got great gifts too!
She was woken up with breakfast in bed.
Went to the beach and had a lobster lunch at "Bostons"! She got a massage coupon from her boys for a gorgeous local spa in town.
And Hubs and I got her a pajamagram. Inside a big box was a sachet, a "Do not Disturb" sign, a candle and pajama jeans. LOL...soft, comfy, stretchy "jeans" and a T-shirt with her name embroidered on it.

After Tucci's we went to Mizner Park and had frozen yogurt at "Orange Leaf".

Happy birthday old gal.
Hope you had a great birthday! We sure enjoyed spending it with you! xoxo

Did you guys remember to wear your purple today? We are trying to make a difference. We wore purple today in an effort to bring awareness to the bullying in schools. So much bullying has gone on lately that 8 young teens have taken their own lives. Terrible. We can't let this go on. People are different. We need to be tolerant of all. Study more. Leave people who are different from you alone. Worry about yourselves. Just my 2 cents.

The family that wears PURPLE together, stays together.

10/19/10

Don't mean to jump ahead, but...

Tomorrow will be a busy day!

First:

Tomorrow is LGBT Spirit Day, (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender) and people around the country will be wearing purple to show their support for the teens that recently took their lives due to gay bullying. According to Gayrights.change.org, LGBT Spirit Day was started by Canadian teenager Brittany McMillan, who used her Tumblr account to spread the message. There are now multiple Facebook pages, with thousands of members vowing to wear purple tomorrow.

A message from one of the Facebook groups reads: It’s been decided. On October 20th, 2010, we will wear purple in honor of the 8 teenagers who committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes at at their schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBT flag and that’s exactly what we’d like all of you to have with you: spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who will love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Please wear purple on October 20th. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.

RIP Tyler Clementi, Asher Brown, Seth Walsh, Justin Aaberg, Eric Mohat, Meredith Rezak, Raymond Chase and Billy Lucas. You are loved.

So wear purple tomorrow in support of Spirit Day and in memory of the teenagers that have recently taken their lives.

SECOND:
Tomorrow is my brother in law Brian's birthday. He's coming to visit on Friday too! Can't wait to see you! Happy birthday other BIL. I hope you have a fabulous day!!! ...may all your dreams come true.

THIRD:
This week is Love your Body Week. http://loveyourbody.nowfoundation.org/ With all the skinny models and women of all ages striving to be a size 0, NOW (The National Organization of Women) is reminding us to love ourselves the way we are but putting together "LOVE YOUR BODY WEEK". The Season 10 America's Next Top Model winner Whitney Thompson is a plus sized model. ...and quite beautiful. You are way more than your weight ladies. Take time to appreciate all your good qualities and learn to love the skin you are in. With a positive or healthy body image, a woman has a real perception of her size and shape. She also feels comfortable with her body. With a negative body image, a woman has a distorted perception of her shape and size, compares her body to others, and feels shame and anxiety about her body. Being unhappy with your body can affect how you think and feel about yourself as a person. A poor body image can lead to emotional distress, low self-esteem, unhealthy dieting habits, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. Developing a positive body image and a healthy mental attitude is crucial to a woman's happiness and wellness.

So happy to be celebrating with you!!!
This might be the first time we're together since you were 40. ...and before that birthday, we might have celebrated together on your 15th birthday. I missed a lot.
Hope you have a fabulous day.
Dream Big.

Worked. Hot yoga. Home. Last night, after all the food shopping, I made some dinner. Hubs and I feasted on Tilapia and peas. Dinner took a total of 15 minutes to make and it was awesome. I schmeared some fancy sweet Bavarian mustard on the fish. Then topped it with a crumb mixture made of whole wheat panko crumbs, fresh grated parmigiana cheese & some salt & pepper. I cooked it in a hot oven, 425 degrees, for 15 minutes, and it was great! While it was cooking, I opened a can of Green Giant Le Sueur baby peas. Drained them. Sprinkled cayenne pepper on them & microwaved them for 2 minutes. The hotness of the peas, combined with the sweetness of the mustard on the fish was just delicious. ...and in only 15 minutes! Today at the office, Bossman asked me to join him for lunch. All I could think about was the leftover fish I had brought in for lunch, but I said yes anyway. We went over to the deli near the office and I ordered a salad. When the waiter served me my salad, I went into my purse and took out a ziplock bag. Bossman was leary. I smiled and dumped the Tilapia onto my salad and started eating. He was mortified! :) I was satisfied. Fabulous lunch Bossman. Thanks! :) The pictures are of a trumpet tulip plant that was in bloom at the theater on Saturday. It's my favorite tree. I'm gonna look into buying one and planting it at the house. Isn't it amazing? I may plant an avocado tree too. Maybe mangoes. We'll see.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIBRAS

Middle neph slept over last night. We all woke up at about 9am this morning. Hung out a little and then he left for work. Hubs and I got dressed ...then Hubs went to work and I went to Publix. Bought lots of healthy things to eat. Hubs is in the middle of his first week of Weight Watchers and just learning the Do's and Don'ts, so I wanted to be sure we had healthy choices in the house. After food shopping, I unpacked the bags and looked around. Wasn't sure what I was going to cook today for my usual Sunday Chef experience, so I was just hanging out. Middle neph called and asked if I could run over and give Cosmo a walk. I did. He's the most gentle, and sweetest little guy! I love him. ...and Cosmo too. LOL. Stopped in to Costco after. Ran into my friend Phyllis. We gabbed for about and hour in the frozen food section! Then I bought more stuff. I guess I was hungry today. The whole day was about food. Hmmmm, that's pretty much the norm though., oh well. Chicken, talapia, turkey, chicken sausages, fruits, veggies...lots of delicious stuff. Who's coming over for dinner? Earlier in the day I got a call from Mr. Gorgeous. He was at the Giants game with some friends. The girls he went with actually went to High School (In Florida) with one of the newer players on the team, Bruce Johnson #25 Cornerback. (Miami Hurricanes) http://www.giants.com/team/player489.html

They even got to meet him afterwards, and they were gonna hang out tonight too! So nice!!! My boy is up in the New York area, hobnobbing with famous musicians, Emmy Award winning writers and sports figures! So proud. What an exciting place.

As for Cosmo and me...we live in a town were it is perfectly normal to hang life sized cutouts of your favorite entertainer on your less than life sized, teeny tiny little car.

Oh what a world we live in! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekends.

Happy Birthday October Libras: Tracy, Alessia, Katie, Angelina, Shelly, Ellyn, Brian and my Sissy!
Love you.

Got up early.
Went to BMW. Got a new "Run Flat" tire. Ran home. Let Rita in. Left for Ft Lauderdale. Hubs and I went to theater for a matinée with Shelly and Connie. Our original tickets were for last weekend, but that was Meagan's show, so we switched them to this weekend. Better seats were available for the 2pm show so we took them. It was a great show!!! Just like the movie! Songs were fun! Sets were awesome!

The lighting was spectacular! Lots of fantastic light shows! It was great!!! You have to see it! We loved the show!

Walk this way...

Put - the - candle - back.

Nice Knockers

I got the brain from Abby someone. Abby Normal.

Connie, Shelly and I were all texting at intermission. I was texting Mr. Gorgeous. He was actually at a matinée today as well. Hubs and I sent him two tickets to see the Broadway musical "AMERICAN IDIOT" (The songs of Green Day) for his birthday and today was the show.

No photography please! :)

After the show we went to TIMPANO a yummy Italian Steakhouse on Las Olas Boulevard. Tomorrow is Shelly's birthday, so we celebrated! We had 2 orders of mussels, some fried calamari, Italian sausage flatbread, arugula and watercress salad, and shrimp fra diavlo over pasta with spinach and pine nuts.

Happy birthday Shelly!
I love you so much!!!

Here's Hubs and Connie.
Love them too!!! xoxo

Hope all of you had a great Saturday as well!
