Happy Halloween!

Today is October 31, 2010. Halloween. I don't know why, but I have always loved Halloween. Not for the scary aspect, just for the dressing up, and candy parts. Red hots, sweet tarts, candy corn and pizza. Yum! OK, so we ordered the pizza, but the rest we got from trick or treating! Hubs went to work to day at 7am. I had the day to myself. I had a blast. I carved a pumpkin.

Then I baked Halloween cupcakes.

I even made chocolate fingers, a mummy and scary pumpkins! Yes I did! I melted all different colors of chocolate and I created. So much fun!!!

After all my cooking and baking, I started to work on my costume. I was Flo, from Progressive Insurance.
>

Hubs, was Mayhem, from Allstate. We were sporting the Insurance theme. How hot is that??? ...Hotter than a European shoulder bag? I think not!

Then, as the sun went down, and it began to get dark outside, I put on the Halloween CD (Scary sounds) and sat on the porch waiting to give the kids candy. We had a skeleton, a power ranger, an angel, a butterfly, some devils, a bat, some kitties, Dracula, Cinderella, and a prisoner. I love this stuff!

Then we got a visit from Sissy, Little, Middle and big along with a few of their friends...

There's Middle on the left, with his friends, the cast of Ain't Misbehavin!

Here's big. He was an elephant today, but decided to wear Little's nerd glasses for this evenings festivities.

Little was a nerd, but tonight he was just a kid, in shorts and a t shirt, and had no interest in being in a photo.

My cute little Sis was a biker chick. She took her jacket off for this picture, but she had lots of studs and toughness on tonight. She was adorable!

Hope you guys spent an enjoyable holiday with lots of fun, friends, food and family!!!

Loved our Saturday! Slept 'til 9:30. Rita came today! :) Yay! Had coffee with Hubs. Showered, got dressed, kissed the dogs and went to Sissy's house. Hung out with Sis and Little neph a while, then Little neph and I went to the new Nordstrom's Rack that opened up. Nice prices on great things! I love a nice outlet store! Got a few little items, then Sissy came to meet us. It's so funny how similar we are in so many ways. (Different too, but so much the same!) We wear different sizes in almost everything! When we go to the discount stores where it's self serve, we part at the door and head on over to our individual racks of shoes. We meet in the middle somewhere to try on the shoes that caught our eye, and inevitably, if we have 6 pair of shoes to try on, at least 3 are the same.

LOL...The family genes run deep. She actually told me today that we can't shop together anymore, cause when we go out we are starting to dress alike. I told her we just need to speak before leaving the house to find out what we're both wearing. Anyway, after we both bought the same shoes and same top (different colors and different sizes) we went over to J Alexanders for some lunch. Hubs met us too. Then Sis and I went to Home Goods. Hubs and Little neph went to Target. We met back at Sissy's place an hour later and Hubs and I left to go pick up the new sofa console table we purchased! LOL...my Sistah and I can really do some damage! After we dropped the table at home, Hubs and I went out into our 'hood. We are on the Halloween Decoration committee. We drove all around and we picked the "Best Dressed" Halloween House in the neighborhood. These are some pictures of our tour. There were so many parties in the 'hood tonight too. One even had a live band! ...and the house was decorated as a pirate ship. It was hard to get a good picture, but it was UNBA!!! We love living here! Hope you guys are all enjoying your Devil's Night. (or Mischief Night, depending on where you grew up) Be safe. Don't eat any unwrapped candy. Love and Hugs.

Today was a busy day at work. It was my day to relieve the receptionist. (Blech) So I got to work at 10:00am...and by 11:00am she needed a bathroom break. She took 20 minutes. I was getting mad. Then at 11:20, when she got back, she told me that she was going to lunch at 1:00pm, so I needed to take my lunch at 12:00. Met Bossman and his daddy at Hubs place for a salad. That was fun! Thanks for lunch Bossman!
(I could have gone to lunch at 2:00, but I had a conference call at 3:00pm and didn't wanna run late.) I know. I know. This blog post has a lot of time information and you are all confused...So, let's reiterate. Got to work at 10:00am, called away from my desk from 11:00 to 11:20. Lunch at 11:40am for and hour, (12:40pm) then phones from 1:00pm-2:00pm.
Conference call 3:00pm to 4:00. Office closed at 4:15pm, but I stayed 'til 5:30pm to actually try and get some work done. What a day!!! After all that, I ran home. Had a coffee. Kissed my dogs. Sissy came over in her new car! G O R G E O U S!!! Use it in good health beauty! ...and off we went to Bogarts for dinner with the girls, and then a movie at Muvico. We saw RED
(Retired... Extremely Dangerous!) I loved it. Sissy napped a little, and I think the girls enjoyed it too. I know we enjoyed dinner!!! There was salmon, mahi, tuna, meatballs, philly cheese steak and something else. I forget. We had fun. I love my Yogini friends. They are special. I'm gonna try and make it to class tomorrow morning.
but if I know me, I'm sleeping in late.

All in all, it was a fabulous day. I love my friends, and my best friend...my sissy!

You know what I always say...
Good food and good friends...who needs anything more than that??

Here's Darlene, Melissa, Denise and Simone. Hugs girls. xoxo

Had a nice day at work. Meeting. Lunch with Katie. The usual. What wasn't the usual was that after work, Sissy and I drove down to Aventura and met some old high school friends for dinner. Here we are at the beginning of dinner. Me, Sissy, Sissy's oldest friend Sabrina and my oldest friend, Curtis. Curt actually lives in LA now, but calls the girls, Sabrina and Sissy, when he's in town. I crashed their party tonight and I am so glad I did! Like I told Curtis, real friends are friends who you may not have seen for years at a time, but when you do get together, you just pick up where you left off, and it's like no time has passed at all. Curtis is one of those friends. I LOVED seeing him. ...and we were at Christine Lee's! Only the best Asian steakhouse in the world. We had colossal stone crab claws, steak, salad, soup, ribs, egg rolls, dumplings, edamame, key lime pie, and wine. Oh Lordy. Here's a picture of Sissy and Sabs.
Aren't they cutie pies?

Here's a pic of Buddha and me. I had Sissy take a picture of me with Buddha, cause he reminded me of Hubs. :) It's not the belly honey. Really..it's your Godlike aura. I love you. We missed you tonight.

...and by the end of the evening
Curt's friend Steve joined us, (Steve is a friend of Bossman's, so I've known him for years.) and Sabs' friend Julie came too. Here's the crew. What a fun night, with awesome people, and fabulous food. I live for that. I am blessed.

Hope you guys are all in a happy place too. xoxo

Work was great. Went to lunch with Katie. Tried a new fast food place, CR Chicks, not bad. Then off to hot yoga. After class I had a text from Sissy. She had leftovers from her dinner out with the boys, and invited me over to have leftover dinner. :) So I ran by, in my sweaty yoga clothes, and hung out with my Sistah for a few hours. What did I do all these years without her? Love it!

Now I'm on the couch, with the pups, watching the DVR. Glee is on and they are doing the Rocky Horror Picture Show remake tonight. What fun!!! Loving it. Here's a picture of Mr. Shue. For all you non Gleeks, Mr. Shuester (Matthew Morrison) is the teacher in charge of the Glee Club. Get into the game people! No seriously, get into Glee. Tuesday nights, 8pm. Fox. Peace.

Back to the grind. A usual Monday at the office. Worked. Had #28 steamed with brown rice and egg drop soup with Tracy. Michael S, Bossman's "mentor" and good friend, came in from NY today. I love when he's here. He is the nicest man. He's here 'til Wednesday afternoon. I hope they spend some time in the office. I love being around him. Greatest guy evah! After work, went to hot yoga. None of my girlz were there, but I was in a zone and did really well tonight. Love that! When I got in the car to go home, there was a text from Bossman. It said..."I think you are the greatest!" What's better than that? ...so I asked for a raise. Denied. :) After yoga, Sissy and Little neph stopped by for a little while to hang and gab. When they left I made dinner. Yesterday at Bed Bath and Beyond, I found this little egg maker. So tonight I poured in some egg whites, added mushrooms, and a piece of Laughing Cow Light French Onion. The pan closes and you cook one side, then flip it over, still closed, and cook the other side. Very cute! I made the egg white and cheese omelette, and I microwaved a Morningstar sausage patty (soy) and put them both on an Arnold's sandwich thin. The whole thing was 5 points and it was delish! That's it for today. Hope everyone had a great start to their week. xoxo Love and hugs.

SUNDAY

Beautiful Sunday morning. Woke up,
showered, got dressed and then the boys and I went to the Hilton to meet MIL and FIL for brunch. Here we are. Whadda crew.

After brunch, other BIL left with his parents for the airport, and Hubs and I headed over to the pumpkin patch!

Autumn has always been my favorite time of year. Must be the warm colors, or the change in the weather. Could be the changing leaves, but we don't have that here in Florida.

Maybe it's the pecans and brown sugar that I use in all my cooking this time of year. Yup. That's probably it!

I love the gourds and the pumpkins! We didn't carve ours yet, but we will!

Hello Ann and Andy.

Here's my man.

...and yours truly.

After Family brunch, other BIL send-off, and the pumpkin patch, Hubs went to work, and I hit the stores. Got a fabulous top at FOX's. Cute shoes at DSW and a new omelette pan and some holiday flavored Keurig coffee pods at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Just before heading home for dinner, I stopped in at Whole Foods for a snack, and as I was wondering around, Sissy called. She had eaten dinner already, but invited me to come over with my own vittles and hang out. I got some stuff at Whole Foods, and went on over. Now I'm home. Getting ready for an early bedtime tonight. Very tired from our busy weekend! Hope you guys all enjoyed yours too!

Love and hugs to all.

What a wonderfully busy day!

Got up at 7:30am, got dressed and went to Mizner Park for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides for Breast Cancer walk.

There were soooooooooo many people. It was awesome!

As I have written before, I have been touched by this disease in so many ways. I was walking today in honor of, and in memory of many women that I love and adore!

In memory of Patricia Phyllis, Barbara, and Roz.

In honor of Gma, Donna, Cathy, Risa, and Elise.

Remember ladies, October is breast cancer awareness month. If you haven't already had your yearly mammogram, please do it!

After the walkathon, I went to HOT YOGA. Yup. 3 miles of walking, and then 90 minutes of 105 degree yoga. Nice!

After yoga...nails! Chinchilla. A nice neutral flat (not frosted) grey. I love it!!!

Why do my toes look so fat? Must be all the exercise! :)

Then I colored my hair and got beautified. Hubs and I met the family for dinner.

My man and me.

MIL, Gma and other BIL.

Hubs and FIL

All of us.
...and some ladies head.

Gma and other BIL having a deep conversation about social security.

I didn't have much to add. I just ate tiramisu.

What a day!
