Project 365. A year in pictures. A new photo each day. ...or not.

Today was work. It was my first day having to punch the time clock. I wore my black and white striped outfit today. I thought it was fitting. (Working for the man) I had a salad for lunch. Went to hot yoga. Got a chance to speak to big neph today. He's still in the hospital. He's such a good soul. With all the shit he's going through, he still is always so pleasant. He's gentle, kind. smart and just delicious. He's still hooked up and getting poked and tested, but hopefully, everyday, the doctors get closer to finding something to help ease his pain. The worst part is he's missing graduation, prom, parties and senior fun. I wish I could trade places with him. I would do it in a minute! He doesn't deserve this.

Mr G. and I went a little crazy with the camera. Whaddya think?

Saturday...

Another wonderful Saturday! The day began with a phone call from Mr G. His week long cruise was over and he was ready and waiting at Nanny and Poppy's house for us to pick him up! Yayayay!!! Hubs left for the warehouse to get his goods for Sundays work. I headed up to Boynton to get my boy!!!

When we returned home, Rita was there! I always love the Saturdays that begin with Rita! Yay Rita! So now our house smells like Lavender instead of dogs. Gotta love that. Thank you Rita! We couldn't do it without you!

After Hubs got home, we met his parents in Mizner Park. We had lunch at Uncle Julio's. Mr. G and I shared chicken and beef Fajitas. Hubs and MIL shared chicken fajitas. FIL ordered some kind of breakfast quesadilla that he hated. Sent it back. Got something else. Hated it too. Guess he won't be going back there...Don't write it off too fast. It's really pretty, and we enjoyed our food.

Well, luckily we had a 2nd activity planned. We went across the street to the Boca Museum. There was an exhibit titled "ELVIS at 21". It was a showing of photographs by Alfred Wertheimer which featured photos of Elvis at 21, which was just before he became a household name. Elvis was just a young kid starting out on the music scene. Wertheimer traveled across America with this still relatively unknown young musician. The photographs are so beautiful. Peaceful. Modest. Sweet.

Here are some of Alfred Wertheimers beautiful photographs. I have totally used them without permission, but I actually took these pictures myself. I took them from the little brochure of the display...so technically, they are my photos. I shouldn't need a copyright. :) Let's hope.

Love the phonograph on his lap! Betcha he woulda liked an Ipod.

Look how young and handsome Elvis was at 21.

The lady with Elvis in this photo is his Momma.

After the Museum. the parents left, and Hubs, Mr G and I walked around Mizner Park. We stopped in to Starbucks, and had a little coffee. Hung out. Talked. Caught up. Love my boys.

Worked. Went to Houston's for lunch with Bossman. Had the best salad ever! Worked 'til 5:30 then met Katie at the Ale House with some of her friends.

Here we are. Me, Katie, Dominica, Patty, and Val. Nice group of girls! Almost didn't go. Glad I did! Thanks for inviting me ladies!

I forgot to mention that Katie and I went to Rocco's Tacos for lunch the other day. Delish!

We had homemade guacamole made tableside...

We shared grilled mahi tacos and a side salad with Mango and Papaya.

...and we shared shrimp tacos

We were pigs!

The restaurant is in the shopping center where I used to work so I texted my girlfriend Sheryl-Ann and she came down for a hug!

Gotta love technology!

Greek salad and lamb kebobs with hubby for dinner tonight.

Now we're on the couch with the pups watching "The Messenger". Another army movie starring Woody Harrelson. He was nominated for an Oscar for this role. So far...a little slow. Full review tomorrow. Enjoy the weekend!

I missed a day of blogging yesterday. I worked, then went down to Hollywood and didn't get home 'til almost 11pm. No excuses! I made a promise to post a pic a day, and I shouldn't miss any. Sorry.

Last night I attended a Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America event. (Hubs had to work) Remember a few blog posts back I wrote about my friend Sabrina (My sisters bestie!) who's son AJ just had his Bar Mitzvah? Well, her oldest son Ben was recently diagnosed with Crohn's disease, the same horrible illness big neph has.

Last night Sabrina put together a lovely event to raise awareness, and money, for CCFA. It was a comedy night at the Improv at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood. Bro in law invited me to join him and his family. Middle neph and his friend Rich came to get me, and we drove down and met Bro in law, and his parents at the hotel. We had dinner at Bluepointe. Then headed over to the Improv.

Saw so many people I knew. People I knew would be there, old high school friends I never expected to see, even new friends from my job were there. A whole gamut of people. So nice!

There was a silent auction. They sold raffle tickets. Lots of fun...and all that was before we even saw the comedians. There were four. It was a great night...and I must say, Sabrina did a wonderful job. So proud of her!

Middle neph and Rich.

They left for NJ today. I won't see middle neph again until August! :( Very sad.

I miss you already middle neph! xoxo Love you. Don't forget me.

Here's a shot of Sabrina and Craig Konhauzer, President of the Florida Chapter of CCFA, thanking everyone for coming.

...and here's Dean Napolitano, the headlining comedian of the night! Very funny guy! Great night! Nice job Sabs. Thank you!!! Your hard work does not go unnoticed. You ARE appreciated!

On a sad note, big neph was admitted to the hospital again today. I'm posting this picture, because this is how I visualize him feeling soon! Thumbs up big guy! We're all rooting for your speedy recovery and we love love love you!!!

The funds raised at events like the one I attended last night, help raise money for the scientists, researchers and doctors to experiment, research, and test. Maybe one day, in our lifetime, our wishes will come true, our prayers will be answered, and they will find a cure for this horrible disease.
