Project 365. A year in pictures. A new photo each day. ...or not.

So busy at work, I forgot to leave. No really. I planned on leaving at 5:00pm today so I could get home, change, eat and head down south to Broward County for 7:30pm theater, but I forgot. I even got in at 9:30am to make up some time...but I didn't leave. Good thing Hubs called to see when I would be home...Putz. I forgot to leave.

So glad I didn't miss the show. Sissy and BIL's friend, Sue Fabisch, wrote a play. Yup. She wrote a freaking play! A two hour, full length, musical! ...and not just any musical. This is one hysterically funny musical!
It was all about being a mom. It's called "MOTHERHOOD: The Musical."
It was so good! I laughed. I cried. The cast was amazing! The songs were fabulous! You'll pee. Trust me. Go see it.

That's a picture of Sissy, Sue and me at the show.

Motherhood, the musical, is playing at the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center (at NSU) through October 31, 2010. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for the great recommendation Sissy. ...and thanks for a great evening Sue! The show is headed for Broadway soon!!! Check it out before the tickets get too expensive and Sue is too busy getting Tony's to pose for pics. :)

For a peek, go to Sue's website:

This show gets my vote. 100% Awesome.

Bossman & LBM were out today. Katie is in Mexico. I still had Little T. there, (my cubby mate) but I was lonely without my other besties. Got a lot done. Feeling good. Looking forward to theater tomorrow night and my trip to NY on Thursday! Hopefully our meeting tomorrow will be light so I can can leave on time for the show and then leave at a reasonable time on Thursday so I can make my flight.

Weather's been gross. Tropical Storm Matthew is causing a lot of rain. It's supposed to rain 'til Friday. I was looking around our yard after work tonight, half admiring the way the grass glistens during the rain, and half thinking about how much we need to put a fence around our property. Here's a view from our side window. We look right into our neighbors yard. Hence the need for a fence.

Or we can go old school like he did ...

and we can just put up hurricane shutters to block out the view!!!

Today was good, for a Monday. I got to my desk and there was a bag waiting for me. My friend Ilsa had brought in a bag of avocados. About 7 years ago she planted seeds. The seeds grew to become a bush. The bush became a tree. The tree was planted and flourished. She made it through Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Wilma and Hurricane Ivan with no physical scars except her crooked trunk. Beautiful fruit made even more beautiful when they are gifts from a friend. Thank you Ilsa!

Then, another friend came by. She had gotten her haircut over the weekend and she brought me all her hair goodies. Clips, and clamps and curlers ...oh my! LOL Sweet that she thought of me too. Thank you love!

"Friendship is the golden thread that ties all hearts together"

Forgot to tell you that I bought a new pair of shoes this weekend. Pony hair. Awesome!

Had dinner with the family at Temped, a great sushi place we love. Now home. On the couch with the pups. Waiting for Hubs to come home.

9/26/10

Woke up around 11:00am. My usual. Hubs had already left for work. I made coffee and then started puttering in the kitchen. I made a salad. Spinach, carrots, cukes, red and green peppers, mushrooms and an almost ripe avocado. (Hey, even a not so good avocado is better than no avocado at all!)

Then I took the bag of tomatoes and onions that Bossman made me save from last weekend's break fast, and sautéed them up. I added more tomatoes, some ground turkey, a little tomato paste, fresh garlic and a big green pepper. Was gonna make some chicken and have a kinda sorta chicken cacciatore, but decided to make it a sauce instead. So I boiled up some whole wheat linguine. Everything is better with pasta!

I thought it would be nice to have my Sissy here too to enjoy the deliciousness, so I invited her to dinner since her boys were at the Dolphins game. She said yes! So I thought up a nice hors d'oeuvre as well. I sautéed some onion, garlic, spinach and mushrooms (took them from the salad!) Added a little sriracha sauce too. (A little too much, hot but still good.) Then I opened a can of artichoke bottoms and grilled them. When they were done, I scooped the mixture into each artichoke cup. Beautiful and delicious. ...and except for the little bit of oil I used to sauté the veggies, not fattening at all.

Then I headed out for some beautification. As I mentioned in yesterday's blog, we are going to NY on Thursday. Jodi asked why? Well, Sissy and I have a cousin who is like a sister to us. (My Mom's sister's daughter, Lippa.) We are going to NY because her daughter Zoe is going to become a Bat Mitzvah this weekend! Yay! So excited. Zoe and her sister Remi were flower girls at my wedding. They were so little and adorable. Now they are beautiful young ladies. I can't wait to see them! ...and Mr. Gorgeous!!!
So I got a French manicure!

...and a winter pedicure. (Dark purple)

I did a little Publix time and came home. Set the table. And sat down.

For a minute...

Then Sissy came over. I did fashion my show. She helped me pick put my outfits, shoes, bags and jewelry.

Hubs came home from work, we ate, Sissy left. He got me the rolling rack from the garage...Now I'm ready to pack! Look out Big Apple! ...Here I come.

Hope you all had great weekends too!

Big and Little neph came by this morning at 10:00am. What a good surprise! My favorite way to wake up! Love those boys. They had Hubs' birthday gift for him. A gift card to the movie theater! Yay!!!! Thank you!!! We love it!!! I mean he loves it. :) Imma be his date. Then Hubs' had to go to work. Nephs stayed with me for about 2 hours. We took a long walk around the 'hood. Walked the dogs. Had bagels. I even told them some old people stories. I tried to name all the dogs I've had in the last 50 years, Not only do I not get to sit at the "kids" table anymore, I think I'm actually turning into the old lady. Oh well. At least I can still remember some stuff to tell them. Love those boys to death! So happy they are here. ...After our visit, we met Sissy. We had lunch at Duffy's and went to the mall. Then back to Sissy's for fashion show. We're going to NY on Thursday, so we were picking out her ensembles.
Awesome day. Love my Sister.

Then Hubs and I went to the movie theater to use his gift certificate!. Had dinner there at 6:00pm and then saw Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps at 8:00pm. It was real good! Probably not the award winner the first Wall Street was but, we enjoyed it a lot. Actually, the people watching was the most fun. All the hot shots I've worked with over the years were there. I actually only knew one personally, but the others were all the same. It was like being at work, only on steroids. One lady (wife of a hot shot) actually directed an entire row, making everyone move over a seat so the two empty seats would be together. Not a bad idea, it was just her execution. Whoa. Anyway, we're home now, watching Saturday Night Live. It's actually quite funny tonight. On the couch. With my hubs and my pups. Just the way I like it.
Hope you all had a fun Saturday. xoxo

September 24th!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BOYS!!!
Today is my little man's birthday! My son, Mr. Gorgeous is 27 today! I miss him so much! He lives in NJ and I'm here in Florida. Too many miles between us. Even though we talk on the phone all the time, I wish he was here. ...or I was there. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTY. I love you so much! I hope you are having a fabulous birthday in the big city! May all your dreams come true. Today & always.

Today is also my wonderful Hubby's birthday! 41 years young today. Love you my man. Love sharing life with you. I hope you enjoy your birthday weekend! May all your wishes be heard. We celebrated with his parents tonight, (G'ma had a prior engagement.) Hubby picked the Grand Lux Cafe. Good choice! We all liked our meals. For dessert we ordered Beignets. Hot fresh doughnut balls. Krispy Kreme ain't got nothin' on these little beauties.

Beignet History: The word beignet (pronounced bey-YAY) comes from the early Celtic word bigne meaning "to raise." It is also French for "fritter." Beignets, a New Orleans specialty, are fried, raised pieces of yeast dough. After being fried, they are sprinkled with sugar or coated with various icings. Beignet is one of the most universally recognized names for fried dough desserts which are basically fritter batter. Ours came with three dipping sauces. Raspberry, chocolate and this luscious creme.

I think the new name for Monday's meeting should be WAIT watchers.
As in ..."I'm gonna WAIT another week before I go..."

Happiest of birthday's to my beautiful guys. I love you so much!!! Having you in my life brings me so much joy! I hope you enjoy every minute of your day, the weekend, the year and your lives...

I love you...both, so much.

9/23/10

Home at 7pm. Hubs had a Tropi-Chop from Pollo Tropical waiting for me in the fridge. Grilled chicken breast, black beans, & white rice. I never go to Pollo T, but it was real good! Thanks Hubs!

Tomorrow is Hubs' birthday.
It's also Mr. Gorgeous's birthday.
...and Mr. G's Godfather, Danny's bday too!
A day of wonderful peoples birthday's!
Hope you guys enjoy your day!

Now I'm on the couch, with the pups, watching the Disney Channel. Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Demi Lovato & The Jonas Bros. I'm freaking 50. What a dork. I love American Idol, Glee, High School Musical, Sister Act, Drumline and now this. LOL...I'm a frustrated entertainer for sure. Might be time for another video of me singing soon.

Speaking of talent, in two weeks Hubs and I are gonna head up to Tampa to see our Goddaughter perform in her senior show. Meagan is graduating college, and the biggest grade of the year is based on a show she must write, produce, direct and star in all by herself. So excited to go and to see her and the show!!! She sang my song to Hubs at our wedding. She's adorable and talented. I just love her! She tried out for American Idol, but they didn't take her. :( Those bastids. Her little sis is talented as well. She's an amazing dancer. Maybe one day she'll win "SYTYCD So You Think you Can Dance." Yay! Love those girls.

Well, tomorrow is *annuity finishing up & filing* day. That's a picture of my "to be filed" pile. Then it's another weekend! Dinner with the Hubs' parents at Grand Lux tomorrow and movies and dinner with Hubs on Saturday. (Wall Street-Money Never sleeps) Hopefully Sissy, BIL and the neph's will come by Sunday for pasta birthday dinner. I haven't asked them yet, and I know they read this, but I'm gonna call an invite them properly. I'm still old school like that. :)

That's it for tonight. Love and hugs to all.

9/22/10

Nothing new to report today. Worked. Had sushi with Katie. Home on the couch. I was supposed to meet my girlfriend Bobbie for a drink after yoga tonight, but I'm too tired. We're gonna reschedule. No yoga. No drink. Need to go to bed early tonight. I'm dragging. I'll be here on the couch if anyone needs me. Peace.

This one's for you Bossman

9/21/10

Had a long team meeting today. LBM was in the Berks for over a week, so we had lots of catching up to do. When the meeting was over, I was so overwhelmed. So much to do! (Hubs knew it and came by between jobs to give me a hug. Love him. Sweet man.) The summer is officially over. Back to the grind. Stayed 'til 7:45 tonight. Missed yoga class.
I called Hubs on the way home and asked him if there was a surprise snack in the fridge from his deli. He said nope. So, I was pouting. Tired. Overworked. No vacations to speak of in over a year. And now, no yummy sanny waiting for me. What is there to look forward to?

Well TV of course!!! A brand new season of NCIS and GLEE begins tonight!!!
Two of my faves! Yayayayay!!!

THIS IS THE LIFE!!!

MONDAY

Work was great today. Glad I caught up on Friday. After work, no WW and no yoga. Had dinner with Big neph, Little neph and BIL though! Sissy is in NY and Middle neph went to the movies, so it was just the four of us. Today is Michael O's bday. He turned the big 5-oh!
Happy birthday my friend! Many, many more! xoxo

So now you might be wondering why I have more photos of Saturday's break fast posted...well there is something I didn't tell you... About 5pm, just before Sissy was due to show up to help me set up for the party, I had showered, changed, put on some make-up ...looked all pretty and smiley, ready to greet our guests.

<--- Here I am looking all pretty & smiley ...

All of a sudden, while Hubs was dressing in the bathroom, I heard the biggest crash ever... I was screaming..."Are you alright???" He was. "What happened???" I yelled. Apparently the little plastic shelves in the guest bathroom medicine cabinet came crashing down. All the cologne and junk on the shelves fell too...They fell, they hit the sink, then the floor. Loud continuous crashing...I was so scared! I kept yelling. Once I knew everything was ok, I felt better.

Hubs cleaned the bathroom and I warmed the food, set stuff out...did a
last minute look around the house... and OMG...
I looked in the den and saw something very, very not good. Bad really.
Something that made my smiley happy face quite not happy!!!
Something that changed my mood from happy to sad faster than a Mercedes Benz AMG CL 65 can go zero to sixty! Something that made me all sweaty under my pits.
<--- There's me NOT happy!!!

Guess what I saw???
Miss Tallulah Belle must have gotten scared from the bathroom noise and my screaming, so she... well, she peed on the new sofa!!!

Sissy and BIL have had the couch for 18 years and it stayed in very nice condition considering they have three boys who trashed most everything they had. (Isn't that how boys are?) I have the thing for 18 days and now look! PEE on the couch!!! OMG I was going nuts. Crying, Jumping. Screaming. Sweating under my arms. I was sooooooooooo mad!!! And 5 minutes before our guests were about to arrive!?! Seriously? I
mean really??!!?? PLEASE! This cannot be happening!

But how can you be mad at this? She's the cutest thing alive and she's 12. That's 84 in people years. Bless her little heart. She was just scared. Poor thing. I could never yell at her.

Momma loves you Tallulah Belle. xoxo

The pee will dry.
