Project 365. A year in pictures. A new photo each day. ...or not.

9/26/10

Woke up around 11:00am. My usual. Hubs had already left for work. I made coffee and then started puttering in the kitchen. I made a salad. Spinach, carrots, cukes, red and green peppers, mushrooms and an almost ripe avocado. (Hey, even a not so good avocado is better than no avocado at all!)

Then I took the bag of tomatoes and onions that Bossman made me save from last weekend's break fast, and sautéed them up. I added more tomatoes, some ground turkey, a little tomato paste, fresh garlic and a big green pepper. Was gonna make some chicken and have a kinda sorta chicken cacciatore, but decided to make it a sauce instead. So I boiled up some whole wheat linguine. Everything is better with pasta!

I thought it would be nice to have my Sissy here too to enjoy the deliciousness, so I invited her to dinner since her boys were at the Dolphins game. She said yes! So I thought up a nice hors d'oeuvre as well. I sautéed some onion, garlic, spinach and mushrooms (took them from the salad!) Added a little sriracha sauce too. (A little too much, hot but still good.) Then I opened a can of artichoke bottoms and grilled them. When they were done, I scooped the mixture into each artichoke cup. Beautiful and delicious. ...and except for the little bit of oil I used to sauté the veggies, not fattening at all.

Then I headed out for some beautification. As I mentioned in yesterday's blog, we are going to NY on Thursday. Jodi asked why? Well, Sissy and I have a cousin who is like a sister to us. (My Mom's sister's daughter, Lippa.) We are going to NY because her daughter Zoe is going to become a Bat Mitzvah this weekend! Yay! So excited. Zoe and her sister Remi were flower girls at my wedding. They were so little and adorable. Now they are beautiful young ladies. I can't wait to see them! ...and Mr. Gorgeous!!!
So I got a French manicure!

...and a winter pedicure. (Dark purple)

I did a little Publix time and came home. Set the table. And sat down.

For a minute...

Then Sissy came over. I did fashion my show. She helped me pick put my outfits, shoes, bags and jewelry.

Hubs came home from work, we ate, Sissy left. He got me the rolling rack from the garage...Now I'm ready to pack! Look out Big Apple! ...Here I come.

Hope you all had great weekends too!
