Another wonderful Saturday! The day began with a phone call from Mr G. His week long cruise was over and he was ready and waiting at Nanny and Poppy's house for us to pick him up! Yayayay!!! Hubs left for the warehouse to get his goods for Sundays work. I headed up to Boynton to get my boy!!!
When we returned home, Rita was there! I always love the Saturdays that begin with Rita! Yay Rita! So now our house smells like Lavender instead of dogs. Gotta love that. Thank you Rita! We couldn't do it without you!
After Hubs got home, we met his parents in Mizner Park. We had lunch at Uncle Julio's. Mr. G and I shared chicken and beef Fajitas. Hubs and MIL shared chicken fajitas. FIL ordered some kind of breakfast quesadilla that he hated. Sent it back. Got something else. Hated it too. Guess he won't be going back there...Don't write it off too fast. It's really pretty, and we enjoyed our food.
Well, luckily we had a 2nd activity planned. We went across the street to the Boca Museum. There was an exhibit titled "ELVIS at 21". It was a showing of photographs by Alfred Wertheimer which featured photos of Elvis at 21, which was just before he became a household name. Elvis was just a young kid starting out on the music scene. Wertheimer traveled across America with this still relatively unknown young musician. The photographs are so beautiful. Peaceful. Modest. Sweet.
Here are some of Alfred Wertheimers beautiful photographs. I have totally used them without permission, but I actually took these pictures myself. I took them from the little brochure of the display...so technically, they are my photos. I shouldn't need a copyright. :) Let's hope.
Love the phonograph on his lap! Betcha he woulda liked an Ipod.
Look how young and handsome Elvis was at 21.
The lady with Elvis in this photo is his Momma.
After the Museum. the parents left, and Hubs, Mr G and I walked around Mizner Park. We stopped in to Starbucks, and had a little coffee. Hung out. Talked. Caught up. Love my boys.
