Project 365. A year in pictures. A new photo each day. ...or not.

5/26/10

I missed a day of blogging yesterday. I worked, then went down to Hollywood and didn't get home 'til almost 11pm. No excuses! I made a promise to post a pic a day, and I shouldn't miss any. Sorry.

Last night I attended a Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America event. (Hubs had to work) Remember a few blog posts back I wrote about my friend Sabrina (My sisters bestie!) who's son AJ just had his Bar Mitzvah? Well, her oldest son Ben was recently diagnosed with Crohn's disease, the same horrible illness big neph has.

Last night Sabrina put together a lovely event to raise awareness, and money, for CCFA. It was a comedy night at the Improv at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood. Bro in law invited me to join him and his family. Middle neph and his friend Rich came to get me, and we drove down and met Bro in law, and his parents at the hotel. We had dinner at Bluepointe. Then headed over to the Improv.

Saw so many people I knew. People I knew would be there, old high school friends I never expected to see, even new friends from my job were there. A whole gamut of people. So nice!

There was a silent auction. They sold raffle tickets. Lots of fun...and all that was before we even saw the comedians. There were four. It was a great night...and I must say, Sabrina did a wonderful job. So proud of her!

Middle neph and Rich.

They left for NJ today. I won't see middle neph again until August! :( Very sad.

I miss you already middle neph! xoxo Love you. Don't forget me.

Here's a shot of Sabrina and Craig Konhauzer, President of the Florida Chapter of CCFA, thanking everyone for coming.

...and here's Dean Napolitano, the headlining comedian of the night! Very funny guy! Great night! Nice job Sabs. Thank you!!! Your hard work does not go unnoticed. You ARE appreciated!

On a sad note, big neph was admitted to the hospital again today. I'm posting this picture, because this is how I visualize him feeling soon! Thumbs up big guy! We're all rooting for your speedy recovery and we love love love you!!!

The funds raised at events like the one I attended last night, help raise money for the scientists, researchers and doctors to experiment, research, and test. Maybe one day, in our lifetime, our wishes will come true, our prayers will be answered, and they will find a cure for this horrible disease.
