Labor Day

Loved today! Started the morning with Hot Yoga! My fave!!! I snuck a picture of the class (before it started) to share with you. :) There was only one hot class today due to the holiday so there were over 30 people in the class. (We usually get about 10-20 in a class.) The body heat, in addition to the heaters set at 105 in the room, made the workout almost unbearable! Soooooooo hot!!! After yoga, and after Hubs got home from his oil change, we headed over to Sissy and BIL'S for our pool party!

The boys were in the pool, BIL was napping and Sissy and I were puttering around in the kitchen. (Middle neph was working) I brought the burgers and roasted veggies, and Sissy made yummy potatoes and salad. She also made grilled peaches (Thank you Bobby Flay!) and she made this unbelievable bread pudding. Main ingredient (I"ll never tell) But OMG. If I had one more bite of it the Weight Watchers police would have kicked in the door!

My Sis is definitely in charge of all desserts. She's the queen of yummy sweets and delisciousness.

Then we hung out.

I took funny faced pictures too.

Here's Big Neph

Hubs

Little neph

My whacky sister

and the only normal ones around...
Cosmo and me.

They're all crazy...right Coz?

So that's what we did today.
How 'bout you guys? Did you have fun? Write and let me know.
I know the blog is called "All About Me..."
But I like hearing from you too!!!

So let's hear it. How was your weekend???

Let us not forget to thank our Country's Laborers. Today is not just an extra day off of work. Today is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. The people who helped make our great land what it is today.
Thank you.

Today was such a nice day! I woke up at 9:30am, got dressed and ran to hot yoga. Love that. I was a little tired this morning but I remembered something Bossman told me last week. I had asked him how he can get himself out of bed so early everyday. (He gets up about 4:00am) He told me that sometimes it's hard, but he thinks of how good he's gonna feel after he works out or goes to yoga and that's all the incentive he needs. Not
just another pretty face that man. That's some good advice! Thanks Bossman! So this morning, even though I was a little sleepy and could have rolled over for another round of snoozing, I got up. I got dressed. I went to yoga...and I loved it! After yoga I ventured to my thrifty stores, but everything looked ugly today. So I went to Publix. Got a text from BIL while there, inviting me to meet the fam at the club, but I was already at the
stores, so I took a rain check. I also invited myself to their place tomorrow for a Labor Day BBQ/pool party. Apparently they had plans to go to the club for a function from 11-3. They invited me too, but I'm going to yoga from 11-1. I told BIL I would be at his house with burgers and roasted veggies around 1pm and start the cooking. I'd see them whenever they got home! LOL...Oh the love of family. So I sautéed some portabello mushrooms and vidalia onions. I'm gonna stuff the yummy mixture, with some Gorgonzola cheese, into the center of my burgers. Delish! (I'll be bringing plain burgers as well.) I also roasted cauliflower and broccoli with fresh garlic cloves. Then I added my secret weapon...Black Truffle Oil. OMG. So amazing! Hopefully, with food like this, they won't mind Hubs and me coming over and using their pool and the BBQ. :) After cooking up a storm, I got a call from Little neph. He and Big neph were going to dinner and asked if I wanted to join them. I thought about it for about a tenth of a second, then ran to get dressed to meet them. Had chicken at "Smokey Bones" and now home on the new couch, with the pups, watching TV. Ah. This is the life!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE NEPH!!!

What a great Saturday! Beautiful weather.
Woke up with hot delicious coffee in bed. (Thanks Hubby!)
Then got a message from the nephs on my cell.
They were ready to move their extra sofa here! Wheeeeeeee.
We're getting new furniture! What could be better than that? Rita of course!
So Hubs made coffee and then went to work.
Rita came over to help me clean and the nephs came by with a couch.
Perfect day.

Here's Middle neph carrying the big stuff.
He took all the pieces of this huge sofa down all the stairs of the semi circular staircase at his house, put them all in his truck, and then drove over here to our place. Then he schlepped all of the furniture out of the truck, carried it all in to our house and then set it all up. He's amazing. I love you Middle neph! Thank you so much for everything you do for me. Your old Auntie loves you.

I love all of my nephs so much. They are all really awesome young men.
And in truth, all the nephs helped with the sofa.
It was a family team effort, and I am grateful for all of them.
Big and Little neph were in charge of pillows and safety.
I adore them! Sososososo happy they are here.

Here's Big neph helping organize the pillows.

Here's Little neph carrying cushions too!
...and he was Keeper of the Front Door.

...and here are the pups lounging on the new stuff. They look pretty happy.

And here's all of us on the couch tonight.
Looks like there might be more room.
Maybe we need another dog!
If we have 5 dogs would we be candidates for that show on Animal Planet called "Animal Hoarders"?
I always wanted to be TV star.

But today wasn't just about furniture.
The real happiness of today was the fact that today is Little neph's 13th birthday!

Happy birthday Little neph!!!
It was a great time!
Presents, cake, food, family and fun!

We went to Matteo's for the big birthday celebration. OMG. So yum. We had Matteo's salad with salami and cheese. We had baked clams and we had mussels marinara. We had linguine and white clam sauce and we had linguine filetto di pomodoro. Then we had burnt broccoli and some delish chicken scarpariello and we had chicken francaise.

and of course dessert!

Here's a shot of Hubs and Middle neph.
(He wasn't feeling blogworthy)

Me and Big neph! yayayayaya!!!

(...and for those that follow my rantings, Big neph is feeling a lot better. Thank you for all your prayers.)

BIL and Sissy.
Thanks for a wonderful evening.
...and for the beautiful couch. Lu you.

And here's Mr. Cool. Little neph. Da Car man.

Dear Roon,
Uncie and I hope you enjoyed your day!
We love you so much and are so glad that we finally "know" you. Love hugs and kisses.
Auntie.

Got a lot done at work today. Even cleaned my desk. No really. I mean I really cleaned it. With Clorox® wipes. Got lots of dust balls from the cables behind the computer too. Nice. All fresh and clean for Tuesday. I like fresh and clean after a long weekend. Came home about 6pm. Did some bills. Had dinner with Hubs. Then sat down to watch some movies with the Hubs. We saw Miley Cyrus in "The Last Song" Sweet movie. I liked it. Cried. Then we saw "Furry Vengeance". As you might know, I am a Brendan Fraser fan (John Cusack too) ...There's no accounting for taste! The movie was cute. Fraser plays a developer working on a new housing community in the middle of a forest. The animals are not happy about all the development and tree cutting. In an effort to try and stall the development, the animals torture Brendan Fraser and make his life a misery. In a funny way. I liked it. It was all about being green and environmentally friendly, and all about animals. All the stuff I love. 'specially the animals! :) So I was thinking... We live in the tropics. The animals around here may be a little different than those up north or even out west. Maybe you guys don't get to see things like this often, so I'll share. Here are a few photos I've taken lately of some animals in our 'hood. Snails. A dragonfly. A baby squirrel.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE ANIMAL?

9/2/10

Still crazy at work, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow. I love Fridays. Not only because it symbolizes the beginning of the weekend, but mostly because Bossman and LBM don't come in. Don't get me wrong. You guys know how much I love them, but without them there I have a chance to get so much done and be über productive. No interruptions. So...c'mon Friday! Mamas got some work to do!

After work today, 10 of us went out for a business, social meeting. We had dinner at Lilly's. I love this little place. They make their own pasta. Delish. I had spinach fettuccine (green) with chicken, sun dried tomatoes and broccoli. I picked out the sun drieds. I no likey. But the chicken, broccoli and pasta were yummo! There was lots of talking and lots of food. The one thing there was not a lot of was drinking. I mention this because without any booze at all, LBM walked right into the big "Lilly's" sign. I'm pretty sure he wanted to faint but he was cool. Kept checking his head to see if he was bleeding though. Poor thing.

And no, the picture isn't blurry. It's just the way LBM saw it after the head bump.
Someone get some ice!!!

Welcome Home Sissy

Sissy and Big neph are finally here!! For good! Real South Florida residents!!! Yayayayay! Worked. Had a turkey and cheese sanny for lunch. Thanks Katie! Worked 'til 7pm, then off to hot yoga. Diana (my teacher) stayed after class with me and helped me with some of my poses. I think I'm gonna save up and get a private lesson with her soon. (Love her!) After yoga, I met Big neph and Little neph at Mootz's. (The Italian Ice place) Middle neph was working his new job. I haven't seen Big neph since the weekend up in Philly. He looked fabulous!
