I received a little package. I love getting packages in the mail, however they are usually from myself, from my eBay addiction. (I have curtailed that passion a little bit lately though...) So imagine my surprise, when in the mailbox was a little padded envelope with my name on it. I opened the envelope and inside was a little blue box. OK, not Tiffany blue, but a pretty light blue. I peeked into the box and there was a note. Actually more of a beautiful letter. I cried. A client of ours, who lives in Michigan, who I've spoken to for years, but met only once, sent me a cameo. Mrs. Evelyn Noveck. A 92 year old, wonderful, philanthropic, woman, remembered that 15 years ago, when we met in 1995, I had mentioned that I liked cameos. After we met that time, she sent me a cameo from her collection. A beautiful shell cameo of flowers. And now, out of the blue, I opened a box, containing the sweetest hand-carved shell cameo of a woman from Mrs. Noveck. I was blown away. What an overwhelming feeling to know that someone thinks so highly of you. I was so touched. Thank you Mrs. Noveck! xoxo
Now, I also wanted to let you know how my furniture dilemma has ended up... With all the moving and schlepping and remodeling and changing, most everything ended up where it began. I had to pass on Sissy's wicker stuff, but there was however, one big change. Our 3rd bedroom, which is used as just a little den and Hubs' closet, has become an office. We took out the love seat that was in there and made the desk the main focus. It looks real nice. Then, as I was pushing the love seat toward the garage to store it, I had a thought. Maybe there's a place in the kitchen for the love seat. Now I know what you're gonna say... "WHAT?!?" "OMG. This is as bad as that time she put the fish in her purse!" "Is she nutz??? A love seat in the kitchen???" ...and prolly some curse words in there too...but, I did it anyway. Yup. I put a couch in the kitchen. Think of it as a banquette, without the table. My son, Mr. Gorgeous, embraced the idea immediately. He said it sounded like a cool dessert area, or a hip place to sit and have a drink. I love that boy. So, here ya go. A picture of our kitchen couch. Thoughts. Comments. Lemme hear what you think. I can take it. Do tell. ...and that's all I have to report from the nut house....except, my Daddy is having surgery tomorrow, so if anyone out there reading this has a little extra time, and can say a prayer for Poppy Mel's quick recovery, it would be greatly appreciated. I love you Daddy. Be strong. I'll call you tomorrow to hear all about it. xoxo Love you. Thanks guys.
