Election Day

If there is one thing I've learned, it's that if you don't want to upset the apple cart, it's usually best not to talk about religion or politics with people. As a half centurian, I have found that everyone has their own personal beliefs, especially when it comes to the two aforementioned topics, and discussing them seems to bring
out the "passionate" side of people and that's not always a good thing. But this is my blog, and I can do what I want here. This is my forum to discuss whatever I want, whenever I want to and tonight I think I'll start by talking about religion.
I am a Jew. Yup. And I have decided that I will no longer say "I am Jewish." I will, from here on out, when I don't forget, say "I am a Jew." What is Jewish anyway? Am I smartish or am I smart? Am I funnyish or am I funny? Am I adorableish? ...or am I adorable? See what I'm saying? OK. That's it for the religion talk for tonight. I am a Jew.
Moving on to the political discussion. As most of you know, today is Midterm Election Day. Today we choose Governors and fill Senate & House seats. Because many people are not happy with Democratic President's progress on healing the world, they seem to be voting Republican. How 'bout this people? ...Vote for the PERSON you like, the PERSON you agree with, the PERSON you respect...and forget about the party they are affiliated with.

I am a liberal. I am for gay rights. Equal pay for men and women. I am Pro-choice. I am an environmentalist, and as far as business, I believe that while people shouldn't be over-governed sometimes corporations should be. The country almost fell apart recently due to greed. There should be limits. I believe people are inherently good, but sometimes, if the opportunity presents itself, people may unwittingly make bad choices.
Hmmmmm, looks like I'm a Democrat. How self discovery-ish of me. Nonetheless, I have a big sign in my yard for my sorority sister Ellyn Setnor Bogdanoff, a Republican. Because I vote for the person. Not the party. I know Ellyn is a good person. And I trust, if she's elected to the US State Senate tonight, she will represent the people in a fair and upstanding manner.

Good Luck Ellyn!!!

Before I end my ranting for the night, I would like to say a few words to those politicians who felt that mudslinging and name calling, as opposed to telling us how they would help us, was the best way to speak to the people during this campaign:
Feh. Grow up.

    Randi,
I had been saving the email you sent about your blog for a moment when I'd have free time. Today is the day that I checked it out and I absolutely love it! I'm so glad that you continue to post to it. You look fantastic for a demi-centarian!

The post about politics and Jew vs Jewish was terrific!
