Think Pink- Dedicated to all the Pink Warriors

Friday I found out that someone I love very much has breast cancer. She has been going back and forth to doctors for 2 1/2 months since her first questionable mammography in December. One test after the other. She was poked and prodded through each one. Finally, last week, the result was that the questionable area in the mammogram was in fact, malignant. She will need some surgery. Hopefully just a lumpectomy, and she can keep the breast. ...but you really can't know 'til you get in there. More pokes and prods. Lots of concerns, unanswered questions and of course some fear.

But she is strong. I know in my heart she will be fine. ...and she is not alone. She has a huge circle of people who adore her. Daughters, sons, grandchildren, friends and even a great-grandbaby. This lady is a true warrior in every sense of the word. Please send a good thought (or two ...hundred) her way. :)

While I have your attention, I urge you to touch your titties. Do self exams. Whether breast cancer is in your family or not, you must, at the very least, check each year. Please do a yearly mammogram. I don't wanna stand on a soap box, I just wanna know that you are all aware of mammograms, and their importance, and that you do them yearly.

I would like to dedicate todays blog entry to all the brave women I have known who have lost their fight to breast cancer (Barbara Gelber, Patricia Roth Disraeli, Rosalyn Roth Friedman, Sherri Krassner) and to those who will never quit the fight! Gma, Donna Joy, Cathy, Risa.

I love you.
