sunday

What a great Sunday! Slept late. Hubs went to work. I made yummy coffee. Finished up in the kitchen. Took a shower. Put on some makeup. Threw on a cute number and then went to Sissy's house. The boys were at Steve's watching the game. Sissy is leaving tomorrow for a week in NYC so we did fashion show and I helped her pack. Then we left to go down south to the Hard Rock Hotel. We walked around, shopped and ate. Our favorite things to do... well except for the walking part.

The sistahs! Here we are at Martorano's. Delicious Italian food. We had their famous Meatball with gravy, ricotta and South Philly salad appetizer. A huge meatball, covered in red sauce, with a clump of ricotta cheese served on a spring mix salad. OMG. Yummo. Then we shared perciatelli carbonara. Cappucino for dessert. This place is amazing. A real caricature of itself. An Italian restaurant, with Frank Sinatra blaring on the stereo and TV's all around the room playing Sopranos, The Godfather, Goodfellas and Scarface. Even the waiter greeted us with ..."How are youse guise doing?" It was awesome.

After dinner we walked across to the theater. The opening act was the fourth place finalist on season eight of American Idol, Allison Iraheta. The little red head with the raspy voice...She was awesome! She put on a great show and she looked great too!

After Allison's performance, as we waited for Adam Lambert to come on, we did a lot of people watching! It was unbelievable the different types of people this show attracted. Young. Old. Gay. Straight. White. Black. Everyone was there! Way to go Adam. Everyone loves you! Adam's mom went to the same high school that middle neph went to! Small world!

We waited for the show. Danced. Sang. People watched. Bonded. Love my Sissy.

And then he arrived! The show was unbelievable! Each song was like a Broadway show~ There were more wardrobe changes than at a Cher concert. He is a true performer. A real star. I was so glad I went!
Came home. Walked the dogs. Now off to bed. Tomorrow is work! ...and Yoga, No way I'm going to Weight Watchers tomorrow. Not gonna happen. Gotta pull myself together.

Hope you guys all enjoyed your weekends too!!! Love you. Night night.

Thanks Sissy. It was a fabulous night. Loved dinner. Loved the show. Most of all ...loved being with you!

Friday

Finally got most of my work done today! Yayayay!!! I wouldn't have been able to relax this weekend if I didn't get some of the things I wanted done, done. I feel better now. Then Hubs met me at the store to get the goods for tomorrows break fast. Started to straighten the house, and started preparing the food. After talking to my Mom and Sis and Hubs, we decided, even though it's a buffet style dinner, the guests would probably be more comfortable eating at tables, as opposed to leaning on their laps at the couch. So I put up a card table and added some chairs to my little seating area. I think everything looks nice! Two tables, three couches and extra chairs all around. There's room for everyone. I can't wait! We have food for an army, so if there's anyone out there who doesn't have a place to break the fast, please come by. We aren't waiting for the sun to go down exactly, we will be eating around 6:30pm, so c'mon over!

May your year be filled with life love and happiness.

My centerpieces. :)

Work was busy. Hopefully I can finish everything pending tomorrow before the weekend. My eating has been awful. My hair looks good though! I need a vacation. My mood is grumpy. I need to remember to smile. Both inside and out. Tomorrow night begins our highest and most holy holiday. Yom Kippur. The Day of Atonement. Yom Kippur is a day of reconciliation, when Jews strive to make amends with people and repent for their sins. During this period Jews are encouraged to seek out anyone they may have offended and to sincerely request forgiveness so that the new year can begin with a clean slate. A fresh start. I could use that! We also fast for 25 hours. I'm hungry just thinking about it. ...and Saturday night we will break the fast here, at our house. Hubs and me, MIL, FIL and Gma. Sissy, BIL, Big, Middle and Little nephs, Bossman, his 2 boys, his Ma his Pa and his Sis. Whadda party! Can't wait!!! I will try to write tomorrow, but can't swear I will. I should be praying and not using electronics. We'll see. To all my Jewish friends: May you have an easy fast. ...and if I have hurt you, wronged you or made a mistake, I ask for your forgiveness.

Rabbi Ben Simmons was fed up with his congregation. So, he decided to skip the services on Yom Kippur, the holiest day on the Jewish calendar, and instead go play golf. Moses was looking down from heaven and saw the rabbi on the golf course. He naturally reported it to G-d. Moses suggested G-d punish the rabbi severely. As he watched, Moses saw the rabbi Ben Simmons playing the best game he had ever played. The rabbi got a hole-in-one on the toughest hole on the course and then again on the next hole. Moses turned to G-d and asked, 'I thought you were going to punish him. Do you call this punishment?' G-d replied, 'Who can he tell?'

Worked 'til 8pm. Another 3 hour meeting. So busy! Went to Sissy and BIL's after work. Their friend Eric came over for dinner, so I ran over to say hi...and to see if there were any leftovers. :) I'm coloring my hair myself tonight, so I don't have my glasses on...so, I can't see a freakin' thing. Kinda hard to type. I did notice however that there's a light out in the kitchen. Other than that, I can't see a thing.

BIL told me my blogs have been boring. I'm guessing he won't be riveted by tonight's. Sorry. I will work on my interest factor. I need to keep my "fans" happy. Hope everyone is in a happy place. xoxo Peace.

Bossman came in today. He was there ALL day.
Didn't allow me to catch up, but he bought me lunch!
I'll try again tomorrow. Went to Hot Yoga.
Had soup and a Smart One for dinner.
Watching "Did you Hear About the Morgans?".
Waiting for Hubs to get home from work.
Nothing else to report.

So, here's today's photo.
(I didn't take it. I swiped it off the flickr.com site.)
Do you know what it's a picture of?
Look closely.
Take a guess...
Give up?
It's whirled peas!

Love to Big neph.

Today Bossman asked me to join him at a meeting at 1:00pm. We were out from 12:45 til 3:00. Kinda put me behind on my work since last week I only worked two days, but I enjoyed the freedom of the outside. Tomorrow Katie, LBM and Bossman will all be out. I have to go in and catch up. No distractions. I can do it!

After work, Hubs and I met Sissy and Middle and Little nephs at the mall. We had dinner at CPK. California Pizza Kitchen. I had soup and chicken lettuce wraps. Also shoved a piece of Sissy's spinach artichoke pizza down my throat, but when I went for a 2nd piece, Middle neph yelled. "Please don't Auntie! You were doing so good on your diet!!!" (I have a lot of coaches. Little neph helps too. Love them.) Thanks nephs.

Hubs wasn't too fond of last nights blog, with all my TV boyfriends, so tonight I dedicate my blog to him.
My hubs.
The only man I love.
Besides my Dad,
and Mr. Gorgeous
and Bossman,
LBM,
BIL
Nephs, etc. :)

9/12/10

What a gorgeous day! Hot, but sunny. So nice. Got up early (for me) and went to hot yoga. Hubs went to work. After yoga, came home, showered, changed. Hubs came home for a break. Drove with me to Lake Worth to our friends, Vickie and Brian's house. Their twins were having their 7th birthday party today.

Vickie had been working on this "Alice in Wonderland" themed party for probably 3 months. I work with Vickie, and she was running all her ideas past me every week. I just couldn't miss this one! OMG. So glad I went! The cake was unbelievable! She made her own fondant! I wish I took a picture of it. Everyone was dressed up as a different Wonderland character. There was a magician, and a fountain with red punch, little tea sandwiches served on heart shaped bread, tea cups, magic potions and more. It was so nice!

Then Hubs took me back home and I hung out with my pups. Sissy called and invited me to dinner. Ran over. She made the most awesome chicken picata, with orzo peas and feta, (LOVED) and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Delish. After dinner I came home and hung out with my men. Christopher Meloni. (Elliot Stabler from Law and Order: SVU) David Bromstad (From Color Splash) and Matt Passmore (Jim Longworth from The Glades) Ah. This is the life!
