I worked. Had a salad for lunch. Then left at about 6pm with the boss for a "business meeting" dinner. Michael took me to Abe and Louie's. (Mitchy took me there for Valentine's Day, and Marc and Sloaney gave Mitchy a gift certificate to Abes for his 40th birthday in Sept!) I guess everyone knows how much we love it there! Tonight I had the yummiest tomato and blue cheese salad and a fabulous cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. My very fave! I don't like California wines, but I digress. Back to my dinner. So wine and salad, then topped that off with the hugest piece of swordfish steak you ever saw! It was as big as my head. ...and I finished every bite! Yummo!!! Also had delicious grilled asparagus and a sweet potato. Lost track of the points, but it was just heaven! Thanks bossman! I can cook, and host a great dinner party in our dining room, (Look over there to the right to see a picture of our dining room )...but truthfully, there's nothing better than Abe and Louie's! Loved it! Thank you!
Project 365. A year in pictures. A new photo each day. ...or not.

Today was work. I actually went in early today. Michael was very happy. I hope he's not expecting that to ever happen again. :) I also was sooooooooooo busy that I didn't leave 'til almost 7. I was cutting it close for yoga, but I made it. Loved it! I have only been to yoga twice in the past month, and after the 3-4 times a week I was going, my body felt the difference. Weight watchers scale did too. I gained a pound and a half at yesterdays weigh in. Still down 24 but I'm hoping that going back to yoga will put me back on the losing trail. It feels great to lose weight, and maintaining is fine, but there's way more excitement in the losing.
What else can I tell you? Gma is fighting through her bout with breast cancer. Her reports were all good. She goes for radiation twice a day this week and is in good spirits, but there's no way that stuff can't take its toll on you. I wish I could take some of this away from her. I know there's not much I can do but love her. She is thankful, hopeful, and doing fine.
Brandon is recovering from his surgery as well. He had his first day out today. He had a picnic in the park with his momma and grands. When I spoke to him on the phone he sounded strong and awesome! I am so glad. He's the best young man around. He was always such a tender heart. Did I tell you about the New Years Eve we spent together? If it's a repeat, just stop reading and go on to another day.
One year, way before I met Mitch, we were all up in Vermont on New Years Eve. My sister, her sister in law Andrea, Andrea's sister Joanne and their brother Scott were all there. All of them have spouses and children. The ball starts to drop. Everyone is counting. 10. 9. 8. Each of the guests are standing with their spouses and kids. Holding hands. Drinking. Laughing. Smiling. Counting. 7. 6. From the corner of my eye I see Brandon looking at me across the room. 5. 4. He runs over to me, he was probably about 10 at the time, and he says, "I'm gonna stand with you Auntie." 3. 2. 1. Wheeeeeeeee! Happy New Year!!! Branny and I hugged and kissed.
I love that story 'specially cause it was so obvious to me that he was coming over to me so I wouldn't be alone. Tender heart. That's him. He's an amazing old soul.
It's Monday (wink)
Well, I'm almost caught up to real time on my blog. :) Ya'll should know, I don't always follow through like I should. Remember last week I showed you all my cleaned out drawers? ...and my hand carved writing desk that I use as my beautification station, where I do my makeup and hair...(not often enough) :) ...Remember there were all the picture frames on top that were empty?
Well...today's photo is a photo of my photos. I decided to fill my frames with the strong beautiful women who have helped shape my life. Women that I admire, love and respect. ( ...although there may be more of you out there, there was only so much room on my desk.) So...without wasting another minute, please meet Bessie, Rivka, Mildred, Shelly, Jenn, Lauri, Lesley, (me) Lippa and Sloane.

Not really, but think of this as Sunday...
Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate it! I hope you all have the opportunity to enjoy time with family and friends. Mitchy worked all day today, and I ...well, I stayed home and cleaned. Although Rita was here yesterday, I was a wacko. Rearranging, pairing down, reorganizing, dusting, nesting, psychotically cleaning. Moving furniture. I don't know what got into me, but I would move a frame. Tilt it to the right. Move it to the left. Take a few steps back. Look at it again from another angle and adjust. I couldn't sit still the entire day. Goodness! Oh, I also slow cooked a brisket. Here's a picture of our new little reading area.
Make believe it's Saturday 4/3/10
Mitchy and I went to Mizner Park today. There's a great eyeglass store, and they take our health insurance! Yay! I tried on like 30 pair of glasses, and I was just about to give up and go for Starbucks, when out of the corner of my eye, way over in the corner, this beautiful pair of glasses was calling to me...
"Rand! Yo, over here!!!" So I looked, I touched, I tried...and I fell in love. New glasses ordered! Yay! They'll take 2 weeks, but they'll be here soon enough!

Really Let's pretend it's Friday 4/2/10

Reduce, Reuse & Recycle
A few posts back, we talked a little about going green.
(OK, I typed, you read, but it was almost like "talking".)
Nonetheless, the topic was environmentally friendly issues, things we can do to help the earth. Todays picture is a sample of my take on recycling. The two chairs above were put outside by neighbors for bulk garbage pickup, at different times. The one with the straight lines, on the left, was a white washed wood chair with a stained Berber cushion, and it had gold wheels! Pretty. The blue chair, with the wavy lines, was light wood, with a dirty cushion. I sanded, painted, beaded, recovered, and gave these chairs new lives! Nice! When people say, "Out with the old and in with the new!", maybe this is what they mean! :0)
What's that?
Oh, you want to see more pictures of my art?
Well, here ya go!
