Go green?

So I actually rented "An Inconvenient Truth", wait no, I bought it. On ebaY. For $2. We watched it. And it was real scary. As with anything, there are always two sides to every story, but this stuff makes sense. It talked about how in 1950 there were approximately 2 billion people in the world. Now there are almost 7 billion. Al Gore was explaining that from the beginning of time, all the way to 1950, the population grew from little to 2 billion. Then from 1950 to 2010, it grew to almost 7 billion. That means it more than tripled in 60 years! With more people, comes more need for housing which means cutting more trees down, and more industrialization. Also, with more people in the world, it means more Co2 being released into the air. (Caused by us breathing out) According to the movie, Co2 has a negative effect on the environment. The point of the movie was to make us aware of our part in all this. If we lessen our carbon footprint, we can make the earth that much happier.

So I was thinking, how could we help? We wanna do our part. I try to recycle. I was looking into composting, but the whole worm thing is just nasty. I bought those squiggly light-bulbs for all our lamps, light fixtures and chandeliers...but they suck! You have to leave them on all day just to get them bright! Talk about waste of energy. Sheeesh. Can't someone come up with easy stuff to do? This is all just silly to me. Maybe conservation of energy should begin at the corporate level. Maybe there should be an energy stimulus package given to big corporations that take heed. Nah. They prolly would just use the alloted funds for a party. ...but I digress.
